For more than 30 years we’ve been helping families stay together in the midst of physical, emotional and financial stress by providing support for families during treatment.  

Ronald McDonald House Charities does this through:  

Providing a home away from home for families with hospitalised children.

Ronald McDonald Houses include accommodation in Herston, South Brisbane, and inside the Queensland Children’s Hospital, in close proximity to medical care. Accommodation is offered to families who need to travel for their child’s treatment, or for mothers going through high-risk pregnancies. 

We work towards creating a safe and supportive environment for families in their time of need – whether it’s a cosy bed to sleep at night, a home-cooked meal, or other support, our team is here.

Providing a quiet space at treatment centres

Family Rooms are a welcoming space where families can take time-out from the clincial environment of wards. They’re a place to relax, and have a quiet space for a much-needed rest. Our three Family Rooms in South East Queensland are located at the Gold Coast University Hospital and Queensland Children’s Hospital.

Providing education support for children undergoing treatment  

Our Education Program is designed to ensure that ill or injured children get the best chance at education, even while undergoing treatment.

Our Ronald McDonald Houses and programs are run by a

dedicated team of staff and volunteers, aided by the generous support of our donors, sponsors and corporate partners.

Each year, RMHC SEQ supports hundreds of families in their time of need, made possible with the support of our community of donors and volunteers.
