The sun was shining, the streets were buzzing, and the energy was electric as thousands of runners and walkers came together for the 2025 Sunday Mail Transurban Bridge to Brisbane. Among them were a passionate group of over 1,200 RMHC SEQ supporters, united by one goal: to help families with ill or injured children.
Every year, participants have the option to support RMHC SEQ when they register, and we’re always blown away by the generosity of our community. Whether it’s a solo runner, or a team rallying together to raise funds, every step taken makes a real difference for families when they need it most.
We are thrilled to announce that more than $93,000 was raised in support of RMHC SEQ. That’s over 581 nights of accommodation for families needing to stay in one of our Ronald McDonald Houses. With fundraising still open, there’s still time to make an even bigger impact!
This year, we were honoured to be the charity partner once again for Transurban, a relationship that has spanned over 12 years and raised more than $2.7 million to support families in need. Transurban’s ongoing commitment continues to make a meaningful impact, with funds raised directly supporting our Ronald McDonald Queensland Children’s Hospital House.
The Ronald McDonald House at the Queensland Children’s Hospital is located directly above the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and is reserved for families who are unable to leave the hospital due to the severity of their child’s condition. These families are navigating incredibly difficult and emotional circumstances and having a place to stay just steps away from their child’s bedside is invaluable.
In the lead-up to the event, Transurban also launched a Dollar Match Day, doubling donations up to $15,000 – a fantastic initiative that helped boost momentum and inspire even more giving.
