On Saturday evening, hundreds of generous hearts filled The Star Brisbane for the 2025 ‘A Starry Night’ RMHC SEQ Gala Ball, proudly presented by Cornetts Supermarkets. From the moment guests arrived, the room sparkled with excitement, anticipation, and a shared purpose to support families with ill or injured children.
The Gala Ball is always the highlight of our calendar, with sponsors, donors, partners and community groups gathered in support of families who need it most. This year, the generosity in the room was extraordinary, with the event raising around $700,000 – that’s over 4,300 nights of accommodation for families staying in our Ronald McDonald Houses.

The evening overflowed with generosity, with guests embracing a variety of fundraising initiatives. One of the most powerful was the Pledge a Night, where supporters pledged nights of accommodation to ensure families can stay close to the medical care their child needs. From all corners of the room, guests began pledging nights. A special mention goes to PW Foundation kicking off the night with 365 nights pledged, and to the table that included KDL Property, Mi Electric and Doval, for the pledge of 500 nights!
Guests also rallied behind other initiatives including ‘Pack our Pantry’, stocking our Houses with the essentials, as well as the excitement of the live and silent auctions, and the thrill of the raffle prizes. Each initiative carried with it not just fun, but profound impact – every bid, ticket, and pledge was a step towards providing families with the support they need.
There wasn’t a dry eye in the room as we heard the story of the Friske family. Their courage and honesty brought home the true meaning of the evening – that behind every bid, pledge, or donation, is a family who can stay close to their child in hospital, surrounded by comfort and care.
The night was also filled with dazzling entertainment and energy. Our wonderful emcees, Belinda Russell and Rodger Corser brought warmth and energy to the evening, while the incredible David Campbell delivered a showstopping performance that had the crowd up on their feet!
We extend our deepest gratitude to our naming sponsor, Cornetts Supermarkets, and to all of our major sponsors and partners for making this unforgettable evening possible.
And finally, to every guest who joined us – thank you. We are so grateful for your attendance, for your generous contributions, and for reminding us that when a community comes together for a worthy cause, incredible things can happen.
Without the generous support of our community, we’d be unable to keep our doors open to families in need 365 days a year. Donate today to help ensure families with ill or injured children are cared for.
